Everyday Journey
The Every Day Journey series was born out of movement. From the road that appears the same every day, yet is never truly identical. The artist travels by car daily, moving between places, work, and home. This seemingly ordinary routine becomes a space for emotions, thoughts, and reflections on time, life, and constant motion.
The road in these paintings is not merely a physical route. It is a state of mind. A moment suspended between “here” and “there,” between what has passed and what is yet to come. While driving, thoughts emerge. Memories, questions, and quiet reflections on direction, meaning, and the passage of time. The car becomes a temporary shelter, and the landscape beyond the windshield turns into a flowing projection of inner experience.
The painterly language captures the dynamics of movement, shifting light, tension, and calm that intertwine during the journey. Bold colors, texture, and gesture serve as a record of emotion, sometimes intense, sometimes subdued, but always honest. These are not paintings of specific places, but of states of being… moments that exist between departure and return.
Every Day Journey is a meditation on contemporary life, where constant movement has become the norm. It reflects on the road as a metaphor for time. Continuously moving forward, regardless of our intentions or plans. And on home as a point of reference to which we return, even as we remain perpetually in motion.
This series speaks of being “in between” and of the realization that this is often where we truly exist.
