Cuba
Cuba is a place that never leaves you. It lingers in the mind long after you’ve stepped away from its heat—the saturated colours, the crooked streets, the rhythm of life humming beneath everything. This collection is my attempt to honour that feeling.
These works were created from memories that are both vivid and imperfect: the impossible blues of Varadero, the heavy, fragrant air along Havana’s backstreets, the way old American cars glide past peeling walls and tangled wires, and the quiet loneliness that appears the moment the crowds fall away.
Cuba is contradiction—beautiful and broken, calm and chaotic, joyful and aching. In paint, I lean into those contrasts: thick textures layered like stories, colours pushed to their limits, and shadows that carry their own history.
This is my Cuba.
Not a postcard, not a staged paradise—but a place alive with emotion, movement and mystery. A place that stays with you and shapes you long after you return home.
