Reflection — Opening Note
Most of my paintings begin long before I ever prepare a canvas. They come from encounters — a person who stays in my thoughts, a place that leaves a quiet mark, a moment that feels heavier or lighter than it should. I hold these things for a long time. They settle somewhere inside me before I understand what they’re asking for. Sometimes the painting becomes a way of listening to them.
This space is for the parts of the process that aren’t always visible: the emotional traces, the small spiritual recognitions, the inner movements that shape the work long before the brush touches the surface. These reflections aren’t explanations. They’re simply pieces of the journey — moments that deepen me, challenge me, or pull me forward.
If you’re reading this, thank you for stepping into that space with me. I offer these thoughts honestly, as they come, from the same place the paintings begin.
